Message: The Community Committee is composed of graduate students and faculty, and is dedicated to building a strong, supportive community that promotes student success and retention. We advocate for the scientific and career advancement of individuals underrepresented in STEM and uphold the rights, dignity, and safety of all members of our program. We believe that everyone has the right to learn, work, and thrive in an environment that is safe, respectful, and intellectually engaging.

The Office of the Ombuds at UC Santa Barbara provides confidential consultation services to faculty, staff, students, parents, or anyone else with a campus-related concern. The ombuds addresses workplace issues, interpersonal conflict, academic concerns, policy questions, and many other problems, whether as a first step, last resort, or at any point along the way. The Office of the Ombuds is dedicated to ensuring fairness throughout the University and regularly makes recommendations for systemic change.

The UCSB Wellness Center is a welcoming space where students can drop in during open hours to relax, recharge, and connect. Visitors can browse the library of books, enjoy a snack or cup of tea, find a quiet spot to study or meditate, and take time to decompress. The space encourages building meaningful relationships and fostering community among peers. It also features two dedicated areas for attending Health & Wellness Department programs, offering opportunities to engage, learn, and grow together.

Our office ensures compliance with university policies and federal regulations, facilitating a seamless integration for all members of the university. - IPQB Theory Room Booking
The space is located in the corner of the Biological Sciences Instructional Facilty and is equipped with 10 seats, three long tables, a whiteboard, and a monitor. Reservations are on a first come first serve basis. To see availability please check the google calendar link below. To make a reservation, please complete the Reservation Form- link below. Please note that room BSIF 1211 is typically available for reservations during Winter and Spring quarter only, as it is fully booked during Fall quarter for the IPQB bootcamp course iQB2. When submitting your request, be sure to include all required details to ensure timely processing. Please note that availability shown on the room calendar does not guarantee approval of your reservation. All requests are subject to review and confirmation.
