Joint BMSE/ MCDB Seminar: "Scaffolding of RNA granules by intrinsically disordered proteins"
Date and Time
Location
Rathman Auditorium in LSB 1001
Abstract: RNA granules are assemblies of RNA-binding proteins and RNAs that form in the cytoplasm without a iimiting membrane. The molecular interactions that drive the formation and dissolution of RNA granules are not known. I will present evidence that phosphorylation of a small family of intrinsically-disordered proteins drives RNA granule dynamics in C. elegans embryos.
